Call for Election of Delegates
A call was issued to all affiliated local lodge recording secretaries on February 8, 2008 for election of delegates and alternate delegates in accordance with District 143 Bylaws. Current bylaws should be reviewed for all portions applicable to the election of delegates, submission of resolutions and appointment of committees.
Bylaws Changes
Deadline: July 1, 2008
Proposed bylaws changes must be discussed and voted upon at each local lodge meeting where the proposal originates prior to being forwarded to District 143. Unless the proposed bylaw changes are on the forms supplied by District 143, they will not be considered.
Credentials/Union Leave and Transportation
Deadline: July 1, 2008
Credential forms and the names of delegates and alternates are to be forwarded to District 143 at least 21 days prior to the convention.
Registration
Fee: $50
Early registration will be conducted on July 21 from 6-8 p.m. and on July 22 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. The $50 registration fee is due at the time of registration or the local lodge may remit it to District 143 when submitting the names of their delegates and alternates.

Local lodge recording secretaries or delegates are responsible for making hotel reservations. A block of rooms have been reserved under "IAMAW." Room rates are $144 = single/double; $154 = triple; $164 = quadruple occupancy. All rates are subject to a 10.5% tax not included in the price. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 noon. There is also an early-out fee charged by the hotel of $35 plus any applicable tax. It is imperative that you reserve your room early!
Transportation
Transportation to and from the hotel is available via taxi for a fee of approximately $20 each way and these rates are subject to change.
